The 2015-16 Late fall, spring, summer overview has been posted to the web site. You can click on the red button on the right hand side that says “2016 Spring Schedule”, find it on Charms, or click here.
Please note all after school rehearsals and concerts and plan accordingly. We have also posted next year’s band camp dates for your convenience and summer planning. This is in no way exhaustive and dates may be added, taken away, or changed.
As of now, students will be wearing show shirts with Khaki, Blue or Black pants with Tennis Shoes. All scheduled times are remaining the same with 4:45PM Band Room Opening and 5:30PM call time for students.
Congratulations to the McGavock HS Marching Band on an outstanding finish to a wonderful marching season. The band qualified for finals at COC once again, continuing their unprecedented streak of finals placements. The band finished 7th in prelims out of 26 bands from 4 states, in one of the toughest line ups in 20 years. Finals were canceled and prelims performances counted for finals results. Thank you to all the students, parents, alumni, staff and helpers along the way that made this a very special season and one that we will not forget! The LONG BLUE LINE marches on.

Welcome back! We hope that you had a restful and energizing Fall Break. It’s time for the final push of the season!
The contest schedule for Columbia (CIMC) has been posted into Charms. Please read over carefully and be ready for a great week!
The McGavock HS Marching Band did a great job at Antioch Saturday. They persevered through the torrential downpour halfway through the performance. We requested that the band not be scored against the other band in our class due to the extenuating circumstance and lack of equitable comparison, and the Antioch Band Director agreed. Apparently, there was a miscommunication between him and the press box announcer and our score was announced inadvertently. Needless to say, the students and parents all pushed through and did a wonderful job and we are so proud!

This weeks Contest schedule has been posted in Charms. Please note that we are NOT attending the football game this week and that we will have rehearsal from 2:30 – 6:00PM on FRIDAY!
Tonight is our annual Alumni night!. All alumni of the McGavock Band, please come to march to the field and play in the stands with us. The step-off is at 6:20PM!

The itinerary for the Wilson Central Football Game, Alumni Night, and The Russellville, Kentucky contest has been posted on Charms. Please review and make sure that you are aware of all times and obligations.
We will be in CONTEST uniforms on Friday AND Saturday.
