1982 Interesting Facts: The 1982 McGavock Band won COC with a record high score of 191, which lasted until 1990. Remarkably, it was the first Tennessee band to win since 1972 (also McGavock). It managed to do all this despite 50% turnover in membership from the previous year, a staff entirely under the age of 30, and massive drill rewrites after band camp. |
