Jazz Band Auditions

Jazz Band auditions will be held on Thursday, December 10th after school. The sign-up form is on the band room door. No experience is necessary. Please get the audition information either from the front of the band room or from Charms.

Rehearsals will be on Mondays starting on January 11th and are posted on the Charms calendar in orange. If there are other events that are conflicting, we will work them out if you’d like to do the group.

If you have ANY questions or conflicts with audtition times, please see Mr. Womack.

If you want to be a part of this group, we will make you a part of this group!

Wind Ensemble Uniform Fitting

Mrs. Dusty is available the following times to fit uniforms. PLEASE CALL or TEXT her to let  her know when you will be there.

Monday from 6 to 8
Tuesday from 3 to 6
Wednesday after school till 5
Or Saturday after the parade

Symphonic and Freshman do not need fittings. They will wear uniform jackets and they will just go with their football pants.

Pizza Hut Fundraiser

We have a new fundraiser starting November 23rd and ending December 18th.  We have Pizza Hut coupon cards that cost $10 each.  You make $6 off of each card sold.  The card has 12 coupons for 12 free pizzas(up to three toppings) each time you spend $15.  They expire June 30, 2016.  There is no order form.  Just email Christy Earl at earlfamily391@gmail.com how many you want and she will get them to you.  Checks can be made payable to McGavock Band Boosters.

Late Fall/Spring/Summer Overview

The 2015-16 Late fall, spring, summer overview has been posted to the web site. You can click on the red button on the right hand side that says “2016 Spring Schedule”, find it on Charms, or click here.

Please note all after school rehearsals and concerts and plan accordingly. We have also posted next year’s band camp dates for your convenience and summer planning. This is in no way exhaustive and dates may be added, taken away, or changed. 

Fruit Pickup Tonight (11/19)

Fruit may be picked up from 5:30 – 7:00PM tonight, November 19th in the band room. Please make arrangements to have the fruit picked up. We are sorry for the inconvenience that the fruit was not delivered on Wednesday. These were circumstances outside of our control.

Mail Well, Saturday 11/14

if you sign up to work, you must be able to stay for the whole shift since it is only 3-4 hrs I need the following information when you sign up to work

2)Student name
3)Number working
DO NOT BRING MORE PEOPLE THAN WHAT YOU WERE SIGNED UP FOR

If you find that you have to cancel or will be bringing LESS workers than what you signed up for, please notify me so if someone is on standby, I can let them work

Congrats & Playoff Game #1 Schedule

raidersCongratulations to the McGavock HS Marching Band on an outstanding finish to a wonderful marching season. The band qualified for finals at COC once again, continuing their unprecedented streak of finals placements. The band finished 7th in prelims out of 26 bands from 4 states, in one of the toughest line ups in 20 years. Finals were canceled and prelims performances counted for finals results.  Thank you to all the students, parents, alumni, staff and helpers along the way that made this a very special season and one that we will not forget!  The LONG BLUE LINE marches on.
